A Backyard Lost to the Incline
A steep, aggressive slope made this Indian Land backyard nearly impossible to maintain and completely unusable for hosting. The soil was eroding with every Carolina rain — they could see the space from the deck but never experience it on the ground.
Engineering Elegance from the Ground Up
We carved a 100-square-foot terrace into the hillside, anchored by a custom bench wall that retains the slope and seats guests. A hand-laid firepit sits at the center, connected to the upper lawn by deep-set architectural stone steps.
